Week 5: Most common failures.
9 ways you could be failing in life.

Not realizing you're more ready than you think you are.
We spend too much time in the learning phase—caught in the “how-to” loophole. (How to do this? How to do that? How to start a business? How to run a business?) The thing about the how-to loophole is that it feels like you're doing the work. It feels productive—but you're not. Real productivity is when you start applying the knowledge you’ve already gained.
Failing Health
Investing in your health should be a priority because its benefits (or consequences) only become visible later in life—the “last quarter.” The right time to invest in your health is in your 20s. They form the foundation for how your later years will look—financially, mentally, and physically. Don’t let future-you wish he had taken better care of himself.
Failing Spiritually
One of the most motivating things I’ve heard:
"If I go to church every week, pray every day, stop judging, read my Bible daily, and claim that I am a child of God, and say that Jesus is King—and in the end, it turns out none of it was real—that wouldn’t matter. Because I’d still have lived my life as the best version of myself I could be."
Falling Victim to Lust
Lust is the one sin the Bible says not to fight—but to flee. It’s something we struggle to control under any circumstances because it targets the heart. It’s rooted in our deepest desires. Many great men—across time—have fallen because of lust.
The only way to fight it is to flee, which means you must develop the awareness to recognize it and the courage to walk away.
Falling in Love Too Easily
We all want love, marriage, and a happy family. The real challenge lies in choosing the right partner. Your partner can either build you up or break you down.
Things go wrong when we fall in love with the wrong person, believing they’re the right one.
One way to prevent this? Limit how easily and quickly you fall in love. True, you can’t choose who you fall for—but you can choose whose number you ask for, who you say yes to, who you go on a date with, and who you eventually kneel for.
Striving for Financial Freedom
As a man, you’re often expected to provide for your family. Society looks to men for security—especially financial. And financial security opens the door to almost everything people desire.
No one demands more financial stability from a man than his own family. Often, you can't afford to say no—even when the pressure becomes overwhelming.
Ironically, masculinity makes us crave responsibility, even when we’re unprepared for it.
Whether a man wants that burden or not is irrelevant.
That’s why pursuing financial freedom—especially before starting a family—is vital.
Losing the drive to pursue it? That’s failure.
Keeping Dreams Alive and Doing the Work
I see goals and dreams like plants. They need consistent care. You must feed them, water them, revisit them—often. That means regularly reminding yourself why you started.
Motivation fades, but it’s still a good launchpad for building discipline.
Failing to Accept Failure
To succeed, you must become comfortable with failure.
Failure teaches. It tells you what not to do next time.
There’s no point in being wealthy but clueless.
Start the business—fail (Now you know)
Start the project—fail (Now you know)
Ask her out—fail (Now you know)
Say hello—fail (Now you know)
Try—fail (Now you know)
Not Taking Responsibility
As a young man, one of the best gifts you can give yourself is learning to take responsibility. Step up. Lead. Put yourself on the front line.
Either you choose that path, or life will force it upon you.
Own your situation. Don’t blame other men for circumstances you could have controlled.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read from the diary. Your thoughts would be much appreciated. Criticism is even better. Please share with someone that could find great value in this. See you next week.
